stare at the wall x MEGAVERSE:
FLOOD
In partnership with the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain.
FLOOD is a groundbreaking location based narrative XR experience for a VR audience of 3 and large passive audience (venue dependent), using virtual production techniques to allow MR viewing.
It’s a dark, foreboding, cinematic experience, set during an apocalyptic climate event that is a bold and visceral telling of what happens when land turns to water. Strangers are dropped into a beautifully bleak virtual world where they have to work together with the cast to find dry land. Engaging with themes of climate change, displacement and exclusionary politics, FLOOD aims to bring to life the impact of our negligent decisions and the effects they will have on the younger generations to come.
Originally written for the stage by Rory Mullarkey, Flood will be adapted for XR by activist/poet/writer Vanessa Kisuule and digital dramaturg Robert Morgan, and directed by Joel Scott of Punchdrunk.
FLOOD is co-produced by Megaverse and stare at the wall, in partnership with the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, and made with the support of BFI, CNC, and XR Stories. International tour dates to be released in 2023.
